How It Works
One motor, matched to one shade
A motorized shade is only as good as the pairing between the motor and the fabric it has to lift.
We size the motor to the weight and width of the shade so it starts, stops and stalls at exactly the same point every time. Oversized or undersized motors are the usual cause of shades that whine, drift out of level, or stop early.
Upper and lower limits are set on site once the shade is hung, so it never runs into the headrail or leaves a gap at the sill.

Do motorized shades need new wiring?
Not necessarily. Many motorized shades run on rechargeable battery motors that install exactly like a manual shade. Hardwired motors are a better fit during construction or renovation, and we tell you which route makes sense for your windows during the visit.
Can motorized shades be controlled from a phone?

Are motorized shades available in blackout fabrics?

How long do battery motors last between charges?
It depends on how often a shade is used and its size, but most households recharge every few months rather than weekly. We size the battery to the shade during specification.
Can one remote control several shades at once?
Yes. Shades can be grouped so a single remote or wall control moves a whole wall or room together, while still allowing individual adjustment when needed.
Will a motor fit inside my existing headrail?
Most cassette and fascia headrails have room for a motor, but very shallow or decorative mounts sometimes need a different finish. We check this during the site visit rather than guessing from a photo.
Do you support the motor after installation?
Yes. If limits need adjusting or a remote needs re-pairing after the install, we come back and sort it.
